About Us

-We are a family-owned and eco-friendly operated shrimp farm.
-We raise sustainable, antibiotic-free Pacific white shrimp in both indoor and outdoor facilities.
-All saltwater is recycled and has no environmental impact.

In 1996, Amitris started with a one-horse pump system using an 18-foot swimming pool in Southwestern Iran, Bushehr. By hard work and well-structured planning, now we’re harvesting 400 tons of Vannamei shrimp every year, 90,000 square meters. Amitris also has future plans to expand it to 240,000 square meters for producing a wider range of aquatics in two years.

In 2013 we designed our own system by getting rid of the One HP pump and using only air. We use what we call a volcanic system. It was the simplicity of the system that made it so unique. We run on-air, pushed into our tanks from outside using a one-hp regenerative blower.

Since those days, we now have 19 production tanks, seven intermediate tanks, and 10 nursery tanks.

how we preserve water

We have reused our water for over 25 years. We have built a bacterial system that maintains water quality for Vannamei shrimp by converting ammonia to nitrite and nitrite to nitrate. In short, we are imitating the ocean to the best of our ability.

We only use air as a way to keep our water in complete suspension. The water would have to keep moving, or it would cause problems with the water quality. When running on air, we have less equipment maintenance than you would have with pumps and filters.

 We are not just aquaculture farmers but “conservators of water” and maintain the water to achieve significant survival rates for our Vannamei shrimp production. We think that if we take care of the water, the water will take care of the Vannemai shrimp as well.

Our water is closer to its natural environment, without the toxins and pollutants in the waters of the Persian Gulf. To maintain these high survival rates, we run nine tests every day on shrimp and water to help them become “happy shrimp” and grow for us!

Our system is so minimal, and it works! The hardest part is to be patient and let the bacteria grow to maintain the shrimp, but that’s why we’re diligent about testing!
